Nepal 2019
Day 12_Saturday
We spent Friday travelling back to Kathmandu from the orphanage and saying bye to David and Henna. The rest of the team then travelled back to Ropheka church and stayed the night, ready for our last day in Nepal.
The Ropheka church leaders and youth threw a little bonfire surprise party for us all as we arrived back at Ropheka church. We had some time of fellowship and worship. It was definitely a night to remember as we sang the same song in different languages to the same God we worship, in the cold chilly weather, warmed by the large bonfire in the midst of our family.
The following morning, on Saturday, the rest of the team had the opportunity to preach and visit the local churches again.

Our team was split into 3 small groups, to visit different local churches that morning.
That afternoon, Pastor NP showed me around the church campus. I got to see the different aspects of how Pastor NP and the church provided for others—the poor, sick and those in need. The church housed 17 elderlies and about 10 teenagers. They are either homeless, suffering from poor health, without family or had been abandoned because of their Christian faith. All of them are dependent on the church.
What the church is doing truly reflects
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Matthew 25:40
To me, this is an action to demonstrate God’s love.

The following morning, on Saturday, Pastor NP took Isabella, Brenda and myself through the town alley ways, to catch a local bus ride to a small church. Along the way, we spotted ladies washing their clothes at the local water tap, men carrying carpets on their shoulders to sell, passer bys standing outside their shops just watching the world go by. At the church, each of us had to share a short little testimony and encouragement. By then, my testimony seemed to roll off my tongue and I could somehow relate it to what I was going to encourage them with. I shared that for me to have grown up in a christian family and environment, it’s easy to take faith for granted, but their faithfulness in coming together every Saturday despite a small attendance truly encouraged me. They were literally living out
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:24-25:
It had me thinking, how would I feel if I was in their position.

On this very last day, I was reflecting back on the days before the mission trip, and how challenging I thought it would be, how unworthy I felt and the lack of confidence I had. But throughout the trip, I rarely felt any sense of unworthiness and shame, instead I was filled with contentment, joy, happiness, love and awe. I will not forget this team that God has united. We truly functioned as one body, each using our own strengths to support one another so willingly and joyfully. It’s was great how a body of Christ come together for His glory!
Through this trip, I witnessed how God has blessed His servants, called them His children and grown each of them into Christ, with abundant joy beyond imagination. I witnessed how God heals the broken hearts, blesses and saves His children in their most difficult situations, bringing heaven down to earth.
I was constantly praying for obedience to do His work. Most of the time, I didn’t fully understand how, but my heart’s desire now is to simply ‘Go, love them!’ I desire to keep working for and serving the Lord, as His vessel.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 NIV

We all have powerful testimonies for His glory. My hurts and pains are not wasted but is to be used to walk alongside those that are going through the same. There is strength in testifying having walked the walk and still be able to say God is good.
